McLaren is going to showcase the M6GT at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is a one-off model that has been restored by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) as a deeply personal tribute to the founder, Bruce McLaren.
The McLaren M6GT isn’t a modern recreation or a loose homage. It’s a true revival of Bruce’s original vision for a road-going McLaren, built using authentic body moulds and reference materials preserved in the brand’s archives.

The restoration goes far beyond surface-level work. MSO has rebuilt the car from the ground up, combining original components with precisely engineered replacements where needed. The exterior finish, a bespoke shade called Colnbrook, is a nod to McLaren’s early factory near what is now Heathrow Airport—where Bruce developed his road car ideas between races.
The green interior of the M6GT pays tribute to the 1966 M2B Formula 1 car, adding a subtle but meaningful connection to McLaren’s early racing roots. It also features a race-derived cockpit, surrounded by hand-crafted structural elements that reflect the same obsessive attention to detail.

In related news, McLaren Special Operations is also set to unveil a new limited-edition model at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is rumoured to be called the 788 HS, and it is a highly exclusive track-focused version of the 750S.
