The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 has been revealed. The latest EV from the German brand has been introduced in two body types.
Offered as both a saloon and a Shooting Brake, the CLA 45 is different from the standard Mercedes-Benz CLA beneath the surface. At its core sits a tri-motor setup: two motors at the rear and one at the front, delivering a combined 671 hp to all four wheels.

The rear motors can operate independently, enabling true torque vectoring and even a dedicated drift mode. The front motor only joins in when needed—maximising traction during hard launches or spirited driving.

Despite tipping the scales at around 2.3 tonnes, performance is proper. The saloon hits 0–62 mph in 3.0 seconds (3.2 for the estate) and tops out at 155 mph, or 168 mph with the AMG Dynamic Plus pack.

Design-wise, it has a more aggressive stance, a prominent rear spoiler, and the largest diffuser ever seen on an AMG compact, giving it real presence. Inside, you get bucket seats, sporty detailing, and AMG’s signature drive-mode controls.

Range? Up to 416 miles for the saloon. Mercedes-AMG has also incorporated AMGForce – a feature that produces the artificial sound of the brand’s ‘M139’ turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine.
