Audi’s new station wagon teased; Sadly, it’s not the RS6 Avant

The all-new Audi A6 Allroad will be unveiled on June 16. It’s the fifth generation of the A6 Allroad, based on the new A6 Avant that debuted last year.

Audi has just dropped a teaser giving us a glimpse of the new A6 Allroad. It shows the silhouette of the car with its connected LED taillights.

The A6 Allroad is a slightly rugged version of the A6 Avant. It will have a raised ride height compared to the standard station wagon and is likely to feature rugged plastic cladding all around.

Under the bonnet, the new A6 Allroad could get a 3.0-liter V6 diesel mild-hybrid and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol plug-in hybrid. Both engines are expected to be paired with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Audi is also working on a high-performance version of the A6 Avant, the RS6.
