Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Manthey Kit clocks a 6 min 45 sec lap at the Nurburgring

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is built to go around a racetrack as quickly as possible. Its capabilities are enhanced even further when equipped with the Manthey Racing kit. This was recently proven when Jörg Bergmeister took the car around the Nurburgring for a quick lap.

The 911 GT3 RS with the Manthey kit clocked a 6 min 45.389 sec lap around the Green Hell. That’s almost 8 seconds quicker than the 911 GT3 equipped with the Manthey package.

According to Manthey Racing, their bespoke kit enables the driver to go full throttle in parts of the Nordschleife, where it previously seemed impossible with a street-legal car.

The aero upgrade for the GT3 RS includes a revised rear wing, redesigned wheel arch Gurney flaps, two dive planes on either side of the front bumper and a splitter. There are six additional roof fins and a shark fin attached to a 25% lighter carbon fibre rear panel, which replaces the rear window. Manthey has also added a wider rear diffuser, carbon aerodisc wheel covers and a DRS wing element.

The Manthey kit also adds semi-active coilover suspension with 30% higher spring rates at the front and 15% at the rear, steel-sheathed brake lines and carbon ceramic brakes.
