1582 hp Chinese Denza Z electric roadster can do 0-62 mph in under 2 seconds

Specs of the Denza Z EV are now out via Chinese regulatory filings. The all-electric 2+2 roadster packs staggering performance. This thing is outrageously quick!

At its heart sits a tri-motor setup – two at the rear and one up front – delivering a combined 1582 hp. That’s enough to launch the Denza Z from 0-62 mph in under 2.0 seconds, putting it in the same league as the world’s quickest EV hypercars. Flat out, it will hit 217 mph in its most aggressive configuration.

The Z isn’t light, though. It tips the scales at 2650 kg in soft-top form, dropping slightly to 2580 kg with a fixed roof. A performance package adds a prominent rear spoiler and unlocks the full top speed, while the standard version is capped at 186 mph.

The Chinese electric roadster features steer-by-wire, three motors working independently, and the brand’s advanced DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension—borrowed from the extreme Yangwang U9. It’s a clear signal that this EV hypercar will also be a good handler.

Interestingly, Denza plans to launch the Z in Europe first, taking the fight straight to established luxury players. It’s a bold move from BYD’s premium arm—and if the numbers translate to real-world performance, other electric supercars have a new contender to worry about.
