GMA T.50 fetches over $8 million at auction; a new record!

Broad Arrow Auctions has sold a GMA T.50 for $8.03 million. Even though it’s a record price for one of these analogue hypercars, it was estimated to fetch $10 million before the auction.

This particular example was chassis 009, finished in a Reef Red exterior. The cabin is trimmed in blue Alcantara, while the centrally mounted driver’s seat is wrapped in grey leather. It had fewer than 30 miles on the odometer at the time of sale.

The GMA T.50 is powered by a 3.9-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine built by Cosworth. It produces 654 hp @ 11,500 rpm and 344 lb-ft @ 9,000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

The GMA T.50 is inspired by the McLaren F1 and has a similar 3-seat configuration. One of the most unique features on the GMA T.50 is the fan-assisted ground-effect system. Simply put, it has a 400 mm fan mounted in the rear, which spins at 7000 rpm, sucking the car to the ground.
