The Ford Mustang GTD Competition recently became the fastest American car to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife. It snatched the crown from the Corvette ZR1X. However, it looks like the record won’t stand for long.
The Czinger 21C has arrived at the ‘Ring, which could potentially beat the Mustang GTD’s lap record of 6 min 40.835 seconds. Moreover, it might even challenge the outright lap record for road-legal cars set by the Mercedes-AMG One.
The Czinger 21C was recently spotted testing at the track in preparation for the record attempt.
Powering this unique hypercar is a rather unusual engine. It’s a 2.88-liter twin-turbo V8, which is paired with three electric motors to deliver a combined output of 1250 hp to the rear wheels.
The Czinger 21C currently holds the lap record around Laguna Seca.
