Koenigsegg might have a surprise in store for us at the Aurora Concours. The event will be held on June 26-28 in Båstad, Sweden.
As per the event schedule shared by the organisers, a “Surprise Hypercar Reveal” will be held at 11:00 am on Friday. If we were to hazard an educated guess, it is likely to be a one-off Koenigsegg. More specifically, a Regera equipped with a manual gearbox.

The manual Regera is being built for FIA President Mohammad Ben Sulayem. It is said to use the same Engage Shift System (ESS) as the CC850. Koenigsegg describes it as a “manualized Lightspeed transmission”, which features three pedals and an H-pattern shifter.
Ben Sulayem had also revealed that it won’t have a hybrid system but will instead be a purely V8-powered machine. But this would reduce the overall output. Hence, the internal combustion engine will be tuned to 1600 hp.

The standard Regera is powered by a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors, producing a combined 1,500 hp and 1087 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, Ferrari has also developed its version of ESS, which is expected to debut on the 12Cilindri MM.
