Summary
The Geely EX5 is a mid-sized electric SUV, and the marks its Chinese manufacturer’s first foray into the British car market.
Posing a leftfield challenge to the likes of the Tesla Model Y, the EX5 has arrived in the UK to positive review scores, with particular praise for its price tag.
“Yes, I’d like a bit more range”, comments Steve Fowler of The Independent, “and there’s still some work to do refining the infotainment shortcuts and sound insulation, but these are small niggles in what’s otherwise a hugely impressive first effort.”
Alaistar Crooks of Auto Express adds that the SUV “exceptionally keen” pricing, a “vast” standard equipment list, and plenty of interior space, as the Geely is on the larger end of the mid-sized SUV class.
Car’s Jake Groves concludes that the EX5 leans heavily on its low price and generous equipment “to tempt you over more than how it drives or looks”, adding that, while the car is quiet even by electric car standards, there is “a lot of fuss and feedback on harsh tarmac.”
